By all reports the death toll for this terrible accident has reached 77 and there are more than 20 injured victims that still remain in a critical condition. It is believed that the train carrying 218 passengers was nearing the end of a six-hour trip from Madrid to the town of Ferrol in northwest Spain. The railway said that it derailed around 8.41 pm. It is unclear how fast the train was traveling when it crashed however the train was capable of going up to 250 kilometers per hour (155 mph).
